Ptolemy Class Bombers Completed

Finished off the bombers today. I was really glad to get some dull coat on them as they chip really easily without it.

Also there is now a facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/HobbyOrDie

Painting guide:

Prime models with Chaos Black spray undercoat

Spray coat Mordian Blue using airbrush. I use a mixture of 1:3 Mordian Blue: Tamyia x20a sprayed on at 1 bar of pressure. Using this mixture I find the airbrush does not clog even after extended usage. The paint dries fast in thin coats of this mixture and foundation paints thinned down in this ratio provide a very thin coat with superb coverage. I dislike thinning my paints with windex since I have been unable to find a ratio that outperforms the X20A and when you shake a half empty bottle it tends to get bubbly.

Next all of the silver metallic parts are painted Chainmail. At this stage the whole model gets a Badab Black wash.

Next the glowing green propulsion parts are painted chainmail and then recieve a Thraka green wash.

Any decking or wood is painted Khemri Brown then washed with Devlan Mud

Next the brass/copper bits are painted with gold undercoat (50/50 Scorched Brown and Shining Gold) then Dwarf Bronze and to finish it off a Leviathan Purple wash.

Prominent edges are highlighted Mordian blue (mixing in a bit of Bleached bone on the models where the wash was a bit thinner to make it stand out more).

Finally Mr Hobby Flat*Matt Topcoat is used to seal/protect/finish the model.

Next up will be my tiny flyer tokens.
